life is a crusade

hy!
i finished this piece just yesterday after having quite a hard battle against myself and this piece´s grayscale alter ego xD i kinda went overboard on detailing the grayscale which made it quite hard for my limited know-how to transition everything to a colored version :S

at first i just wanted to dabble around and maybe try some strong knight-ish figure, as i´ve been totally inspired by [link] who achieved an awesome job in directing the viewers attention on this insanely detailed fellow xD

over the course of finding shapes and defining their value, i kinda came up with some "paladin-ish" armor design, as i wanted to depic this good/evil attitued on his armor, rather through some dumb smugface, giving away everything and totally revealing this character instantly :S
also i kinda drifted off while doing his face, as i had to redo it once after it looked like some brute on xtc and kinda ended up with a more self-portrait here haha xD
personally, i find it rather amusing, as it´s now more of a glorious self-reflection q__q

"a guy carrying his heavy armor on his crusade to a better existence" - sums it up quite nice,doesn´t it? xD
